An Adventure in the Rain
Somehow, I thought I remembered that in a convertible, the rain goes over you if you're moving. I can now assure you that that is not the case! I was coming back from dinner in Painesville, where I introduced BB to my parents and brother. There was some sign of a thunderstorm, but I though "I'll just go from bridge to bridge and, if it gets bad, I'll stop under a bridge and put the top up. How bad can it be?"
Naturally a soaking downpour begins just as I clear the last bridge in roughly 5 miles. This is the moment when I realized how bumpkus my theory was. Not only did I get soaked, but somehow, the airflow managed to soak down the inside of the windshield. This made driving home like playing Mario Kart just after the squid has squirted you! Those were some white knuckles.
This is also the point where I wished I had prioritized fixing the fan over the gas gauge. Live and learn. I guess I'll move that project ahead of the speedometer.
Happy motoring!
