Some Things Are Harder That They Look
Remarkably,
a replacement soft top snap only costs $1.50.
Thinking that should be something I could manage while I walked by to
get the mail on any given day, I ordered one to replace the one missing snap. I then promptly discovered that the back side
of the snap is barely accessible in a narrow void between the inner and outer
fender. After some experimentation, I
removed an inside body panel and was able to twist my fingers into a shape
which could first hold the nut in position while I started the screw, and
second, hold a box end wrench while I tightened it. That was five minutes that turned into an
hour but the top snaps down everywhere.
There is still a hole on one side with no matching snap in the top.
Hmmmm
