Midwinter Update
The craziest project of my workshop life is underway. In previous posts, I described how I am removing the traditional leaf spring suspension and installing an independent rear suspension from a Honda S2000. I have spent a great deal of time taking measurements to try to talk myself out of this. However, they keep coming up perfect. I have some belief in faith but this is too much!
- The pilot diameter on BB's wire wheel hub is 49mm. The S2000 pilot is 48.85mm. That's close to the design clearance!
- The bolt circle diameter for the lug nuts is identical between BB and the S2000. BB has only four but at least one hole will work!
- The clearance to the differential input is 1/2", which is about the width of the needed shim to adapt the bolt pattern
Of course, there are major changes that need managed, but some happy coincidences reassure me!
So, here is a view of the progress of removing the driver side battery box. This is quite a job, even with the air saw I bought. But it will soon be over.
And, when it is, we'll be having #funwithcars !
