The End of the Autocross Season
There was great joy in this season. The new tires really changed things. And I made some new friends. I'll never forget Loyd (who drives 5 1/2 hours to get to Wickliffe from southern Ohio) saying "I wish to God I had an MGB!" as he saw me across the paddock. Loyd runs a Mini Cooper and often FTD's in it, straight up (without PAX). I also had some good conversation with my paddock mate when I informed him of my plan to install an S2000 powertrain. He owns an S2000 and allowed me to take measurements. I think this is going to work out.
It's crazy how tiny BB looks compared to a "small" sports car of today! In any case, she holds many of their genes, which she passed down. We were in the bottom third for the last race but had great fun. We may go a bit backwards next year as the new suspension will need tuning. We'll see but the Winter will be fun!
Happy Motoring!
